Winter Programs
COMMUNITY CELEBRATION
What better way to spend the first Saturday in December than building a snowman, enjoying a variety of music, and tasting a wide array of chili? Every year the community center puts on a winter community celebration. We bring in snow for everyone to play with. Community members will have the opportunity to enter their best chili into the annual chili cook off. There will be a carnival for children of all ages to enjoy. The winter community celebration will begin at 10 am and run until 5 pm.
The Marketing/Events Specialist will be in charge of making all preparations for the events. Volunteers will be engaged in facilitating the carnival games for children and assisting people with registration. All community members will have the opportunity to vote on which chili is their favorite.
The entry fee to participate in the chili cook off is $10 per batch of chili. The cost of the children's carnival is $5.
This event is located in the Outdoor Area located near the front entrance of the Community Center which consists of picnic tables, benches, and walking paths.
The equipment necessary for the days events will be tents, extension cords, generators, microphone and speakers, snow and a snow machine.
