Community Garden
The Community Center offers the opportunity for members to partake in the experience of gardening. The experience helps teach both children and adults useful skills in plant gardening and vegetable gardening as well as healthy dieting. Our Community Garden is located on the roof of the Community Center which also holds a full size shed for tools and equipment. At the end of the growing season plot owners will reap the benefit of their garden and community members are invited to join the Harvest Banquet, where vegetables from the garden are included in dishes. Those interested in purchasing a gardening plot have the option of a 20x25 foot plot for $25 per year or a 20x30 foot plot for $30 per year.
The Community Garden will be overseen by the Master Gardner and the Volunteer Coordinator. Volunteers are asked to assist in daily maintenance of the garden and supplies.
Equipment needs for the Community Garden includes: trowels, hoes, hand pruners, watering cans, spades, shovels, wheel barrows, gardening gloves, gardening hose, leaf rakes, a sprinkler, a rotating tiller, and a cultivator.
