Training Plan
Huntsville Community Center will have a semi-annual emergency drill practice day. The Executive Director will pre-determine the type of emergency scenario for the drill. He/she will select the scenario based on current emergency situations occurring in similar facilities. The staff will be notified which day the drill will occur, but they will not know what scenario will be chosen. The Executive Director will alert the fire department, police, and local EMT services in advance about the drill. The Executive Director will observe all actions and record response time. He/she will also conduct the debriefing to discuss areas that need additional focus and skills that require retraining.
Prior to opening the facility, all emergency service providers (fire, police, EMT) will tour the facility. They will provide insight into planning evacuation routes and potential hazard areas. All emergency alert systems will be tested to ensure proper functioning.
